The Offices of the President and Board of Regents welcome Jacy Pietsch!

November 11,  2022

Jacy joins the team as the new office coordinator. In this role she will provide administrative support. Her duties include organizing travel, expense tracking, meeting preparation, and any tasks that arise in the day to day running of the office. She will also be the first point of contact for visitors to the President's office. Jacy’s first day is November 21.

Since 2019, she has worked as the program coordinator and office manager for the Department of Veterinary Medicine at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. Prior to that, she spent nine years as laboratory manager for the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ.

Born in Houston, Texas, Jacy grew up bouncing between Texas, Nebraska, and Colorado. She also spent a year in New Zealand as a high school exchange student. She lived in Fairbanks from 1993 to 1998 and then moved back in 2010.

Jacy has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Greg Pietsch, Jacy’s husband, was a Fairbanks area veterinarian for several years but recently took a faculty position in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. Jacy and Greg’s 16 year old son is a junior at Hutchison High School in the information technology cluster. The family has three cats, two dogs, and a coop of busy chickens.

Jacy loves traveling and trying new foods. Ireland is her favorite destination but Costa Rica is a close second. That said, mostly she’s a homebody who enjoys reading, crocheting, and solving puzzles.
