University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Statewide Office Honors Employees

Twenty-four University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Statewide ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs were honored this week with service award presentations, and three others were named outstanding ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs of the year. The Office of President Mark R. Hamilton was named the outstanding university department of the year.
The outstanding ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs were Janet Johnson, Information Technology Services, for her work on several projects including the university's academic initiatives and improvements for student services; Brian Brubaker, administrative assistant and office coordinator for the system governance office; and Christy Shaw, a student ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ in Budget and Institutional Research.
This year, the outstanding department award went to the Office of President Mark R. Hamilton and his office staff.
Three ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs were honored for 25 years of service to the university. They were Bill Gregory, director of operation services for Information Technology; Pat Ivey, executive officer for system governance; and Cal Mercer, a system programmer in Technology Services.
Twenty-year service awards were given to Barb Branton, office coordinator for the university's general counsel; Jim Chapman, who is with the student and financial aid group in Information Technology; Penny Ewalt, administrative coordinator for the office of the vice president for finance; and Jim Lynch, associate vice president for finance.
Fifteen-year awards went to Beth Mercer, technical services manager in Technology Services; Michael Sfraga, director of program development in the Office of the President; Val Amarillas, manager for statewide financial systems; and Diana Dee Carr, systems technician in the financial systems office.
Ten-year awards went to Pam Bradley, an accounting technician for fund accounting in the finance office; Carole English, lead analyst programmer with the student and financial aid group in Technology Services; Terry Hartman, lead analyst programmer with the student and financial aid group in Technology Services; Tim Hagensick, computer operator in production services; Bruce C. Rowe, contract manager in the UA Corporate Programs office; Connie Kramer, an account technologist in Fund Accounting; Terry Miller, lead help desk analyst in Technology Services; Lisa Sporleder, an analyst technician in production services; Joe Trubacz, director of Planning, Analysis and Institutional Research for ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and the assistant director for Statewide Budget and Institutional Research; and Erika Van Flein, benefits coordinator in Human Resources.
Recipients of five-year service awards were Myron J. Dosch, financial accounting manager; Joyce Helens, executive director of UA Corporate Programs; and Isabelle Tissier, a senior analyst in Budget and Institutional Research.
The awards were given at statewide ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ luncheons in Anchorage and Fairbanks.
