UA closed Jan. 20 in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Celebration of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Civil Rights
All University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 to recognize the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Celebration of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Civil Rights holiday. The day is one of 12 paid holidays for UA ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æs.
In 1994, the Board of Regents approved the holiday and changed the name to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in Celebration of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Civil Rights. This special day celebrates the legacy of Dr. King, ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Native leaders and organizations, and others who have led civil rights initiatives benefiting all ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æns.
