    Search underway for ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ's next provost and executive vice chancellor

    Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Anupma Prakash has announced her retirement, effective May 31, 2025. The University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Fairbanks is launching a national search for her successor.

    UAS Honors Sioux Douglas of Juneau with Meritorious Service Award

    Ms. Douglas has tirelessly advocated for the needs of seniors and people with disabilities in Southeast ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ. The award will be given at the 2025 Juneau Campus commencement ceremony, taking place at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 4 in the UAS Recreation Center.

    Rachael Ball named vice provost for student success and dean of the UAA Honors College

    Ball has been serving in this role in an interim capacity in January 2024. In her role, Ball oversees the Office of Student Success, which supports students through Academic Advising, the Learning Commons, Navigate360 and initiatives like textbook affordability and peer mentoring.

  • Provost Anupma Prakash to retire on May 31, 2025

    Provost Prakash joined the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ faculty in 2002 as an associate professor of geophysics. Prior to her appointment as provost, she served as associate dean and interim dean in the College of Natural Science and Mathematics and the director of the National Science Foundation's ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ EPSCoR program.

    UAS Professor X̱'unei Lance Twitchell Wins Emmy Award

    Dr. X̱'unei Lance Twitchell, Professor of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Native Languages at the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Southeast, won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Preschool Animated Series at the 2025 Children's & Family Emmy® Awards on March 15 in Los Angeles.
