Theresa Bakker appointment

Theresa Bakker has been appointed as the interim executive director of University Advancement. In this role, she will lead �Ӱ�ԭ��'s development, alumni relations, communications and marketing activities.

Bakker will start the interim role on Nov. 6 and serve until a permanent candidate is hired. Felicia Burud, Alumni Relations manager, will serve as the acting director of Alumni Relations during this period.

Bakker currently serves as the �Ӱ�ԭ�� Alumni Relations director and the executive director of the University of �Ӱ�ԭ�� Fairbanks Alumni Association. Prior to this, Bakker served as the marketing and communications manager at the University of �Ӱ�ԭ�� Museum of the North. She first came to Fairbanks in 1996 to work as a producer for KUAC. She has also worked as a journalist for a variety of print and broadcast media across �Ӱ�ԭ��. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Pennsylvania and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Pacific Lutheran University.
