2024 State of the University Address - Video Available

The 2024 State of the University Address was held on March 11, 2024 during the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce weekly luncheon. President Pitney provided an update on the important role of the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ system in the state's economic recovery and in building ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's workforce; the contributions of UA's world-class research; and highlighted excellence across the university system.

Last week, while UA had spring break, the Legislature remained in session. Lawmakers focused on the budget, receiving new economic outlooks, and taking public testimony. The Legislature also revisited several education bills.

Butrovich Data Center Facility Upgrade Project May 11th - 18th

ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Facilities Services will be conducting a planned maintenance power shutdown in the Butrovich Building to integrate a maintenance bypass switch for the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the Butrovich Data Center (BDC). This planned maintenance shutdown will mean that many UA data systems served out of the BDC will be unavailable during the following timeframes...

he ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Maritime Education Consortium was designated as a Center of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration. The designation recognizes and promotes support to post-secondary maritime training programs that prepare students for careers in the maritime industry.
